NYG 2023: Ajibade Ibrahim wins first gold medal for Team Oyo at the ongoing competition in Asaba, Delta State.

 

The wait for Team Oyo's first medal at the ongoing 7th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State is finally over as the Pacesetter state struck gold in the 10km male individual time trial in Cycling.

Ibrahim Ajibade crossed the finish line in 16mins:18.9secs to edge out Lagos and Kaduna who finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Oyo State’s Cycling coach, Akinola Oluwaseyi while speaking with BCOS reporterTobi Ajewole in Asaba was beaming with smile. 

He attributed Ajibade's success to hard work which he said had finally paid but stressed the team.

 Akinola assured that his cyclists will not rest on their oars.

Ibrahim Ajibade will next be in action on Wednesday when the 30km male Criterion Elimination event takes place.
