2023 Sheroes Cup Pre-season fiesta: Edo Queens humble Ekiti Queens 4-1*

 

Edo Queens Football Club of Benin had an impressive outing today in the opening game of the 2023 edition of Sheroes Pre-season Cup tournament whick kicked off today at the Aguiyi Ironsi Guards Brigade ground Abuja.

The coach Moses Aduku- led side prove their superiority over new comers Ekiti Queens FC as they were trashed 4-1by the ladies from Edo State. 

Following Edo Queens first half dominance, Ekiti Queens were rocked when Edo Queens new striker Goodness Osigwe, scored the opening goal in 23 minutes of play. 

Four goals in for Edo Queens as many first- half minutes gave the opponent a mountain to climb. However, Ekiti Queens pulled one back in the early minutes of second half, but it was not enough to justify their forceful come back in the late minutes of the second half. 

Ekiti Queens first game experience in this tournament was actually a baptism of fire for them. This is to prepare their minds of what to expect in the NWFL proper. 

Edo Queens fc won the maiden edition of the Pre- season Sheroes Cup in 2019. They have lost in two finals to FC Robo, and Delta Queens FC. 

With their classic performance today, all eyes are on them to win this year's edition.

Edo Queens will on Monday take on Dannaz Ladies FC of Lagos State at the Sani Abacha Barracks.
