Edo State Head of service cup gets kick off date.

 

All is now set for the maiden Edition of the Edo state Head of service ( HOS) football tournament amongst public/civil servants in the state.

Arising from a meeting of the Main Organising committee ( MOC) on Wednesday, held at the tournament secraitarat, Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin city, the Committee chairman Victor Edokpayi said the draws for the tournament will hold at the media centre of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Monday November 6th 2023 by 11am.

He disclose that the event designed to promote social interaction and physical well being of public servants across various ministries, department and Agencies in the state, will kick off on the 16th of November 2023 by 2pm at the western boys high school mini stadium, Benin city.

The season sports administrator said the HOS football tournament, that will be played on a knock out format will be physically and socially engaging for the participating civil and Public servants to meet the desired objectives of the tourney, that will climax in the second week of December 2023 inside the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Fifteen teams will take part in the tournament, namely Govt house Football team, Edo state sports commission, ministry of Physical Planning, housing, urban and regional Development, ministry of health, office of the Auditor General, Electricity Regulatory commission, ICTA, Eddosubeb, Edo state school of Health technology, Edo state college of Agriculture and natural resources, Edo state Public building and meaintanance Agency, Ministry of mining and Energy, Edsogpadec, Edo state fire service and Edo state college of nursing.

Edokpayi however used the opportunity to call on the organise private sector, individuals to support the tournament in whatever way as the organising committee will do it's best to ensure they deliver on assigned duties.
