2024, Edo State FA Cup Final: Edo Queens are Champions

Edo Queens Football Club have become unbeatable in the State Federation Cup as they continued  their dominance on Sunday afternoon by beating Fortress Ladies FC 5-0 in the finals of the 2024 edition played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City.


Edo Queens who have continuously won the State FA Cup trophy since inception demonstrated their supremacy in the competition as they retained the trophy again. Edo Queens winger, Peace Abbey, opened scoring for the Champions in 28th minute of play. Fortress Ladies did had a chance to pull level, the defence line lead by skipper Efe osakpolor where resolute to make Edo queens head into the break with a goal lead.


The keenly contested first 45 minutes of the encounter ended with Edo Queens smiling to the dressing with one goal lead. 


As play resume for the second half, Edo Queens coach Moses Aduku, made some changes that added force to the attack, Goodness Osigwe who is in the midst of a stunning debut campaign for the State Federation champions, added her name to the score chart in the 5-0 bashing of Fortress Ladies.

Her goal came in the 56th minute of action, while Mariam Abdurasheed, netted in the 3rd goal for Edo Queens at 62nd minute, Onuorah Amarachukwu also registered her goal in 70th minute, Suliat Abideen scored the 5th goal 4 minutes into added time to give the Queens the crown.


With the 5-0 spanking of Fortress Ladies FC, Edo Queens retained the trophy, and have remain unbeaten in the history of the State Federation Cup tournament since inception. They were crowned champions of the 2024 edition of the Edo State Federation Cup.
