NPFL24: Insurance Forced to 1-1 draw at Kwara Utd as Meyinwa shines

 

Bendel Insurance Football club of Benin, were on Sunday, April 7,2024 forced to a 1-1 draw at Kwara United in the Match Day 29 engagement of the Nigeria Premier Football League. 

Meyinwa Oritseweyinmi broke the deadlock for Insurance after picking up Evans Ogbonda's croas from the left flank and calmly put it into the net to put Insurance in front in the 25th minute of play. 

The Benin Arsenal shrugged off their match day 28 disappointment and remained in control of the game till the end of first half.

On resumption of the second half, coach Monday Odigie  quickly substituted injured Sarki Ismael for Chisom Okereke. 

Kabir Dogo on his part also made some substitutions to fortify the Hramony boys to effect some changes, improving their standard of play. 

In the 63rd minute of play,Ejeh Isaiah. equalized for Kwara  through a spot kick. The Center Referee had penalized  Ebuka Akobundu for a body contact with Kwara Utd striker on a counter attack against Insurance.

Recall that Kwara Utd almost caused an upset against Bendel Insurance in the first round meeting in Benin after being forced to a 2-2 draw.

The Benin Arsenals, with the away draw have now moved a step forward to 38 points as they play host to Kano Pillars in the match Day thirty fixture in Benin.
