WAFU-B play-off: Professor Egbefo charges Edo Queens to stay positive

 

 

Acting Vice Chancellor of Edo State University Uzairue, professor Dawood Egbefo, has commended Edo Queens Football Club of Benin for doing the state proud in the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League NWFL premiership season.

Professor Egbefo made this commendation when Edo Queens paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Uzairue. he expressed confidence that the Edo Queens team has what it takes to make Nigeria and Edo State proud in Cote D'Ivoire. He called on the entire squad to remain positive in their quest to conquer Africa.

According to him: "I want to say that we are very happy to have Edo Queens Football Club of Benin in our mixed, when you were preparing for the Super six, you people came to camp here, you went you saw and you conquered. Now you are here again, we are indeed very happy to see you people and also hear your success stories. Edo Queens is a state team, and Edo State University is also a state of own property, so we are elated to give you our facilities to use. We want to maintain this relationship and also want this partnership to continue. 

We have young sports boys and girls in this university who are ready to learn, so whenever they come to you for coaching, please do oblige them." 

"We also pray God to bring good blessings to us and to Edo Queens. We want to foster unity among us. I also want to use this medium to charge you all to be focused as you travel to represent Nigeria at the continental level. I'm very confident that Edo Queens has all it takes to do us proud. Once again, you are all welcome. " 

Meanwhile, leader of the delegation Sixtus Omokhagbor, the Senior Special Assistant SSA to the Edo State Governor on Sports, thanked  the VC and the University community for making their facilities available for Edo Queens to use. He added that using their facilities has in no small way benefited Edo Queens and Edo State.

He also presented Edo Queens jerseys to the VC, professor Dawood Egbefo, the Registrar Mr. Habib Ekhalefo, the University Bursar, Dr. Osifo Osagie and Professor Maliki.

Edo Queens FC is currently in close camp in Edo University Uzairue as part of the build-up for WAFU-B continental showpiece in Cote D'Ivoire..
