Dr. Sifo Omatsola Congratulates Delta Sports Commission Chairman, Chief Oborevwori Onos, on Warri Wolves’ NPFL Promotion and Delta Queens Rejuvenation

Chairman of Royal Queens FC, Dr. Sifo Omatsola, has extended warm congratulations to the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Oborevwori Onos, for his instrumental role in the revival of sports in the state — particularly the recent promotion of Warri Wolves FC to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the ongoing rejuvenation of Delta Queens FC.

Dr. Sifo lauded the Sports Commission’s efforts as a turning point for Delta State football, noting that Warri Wolves’ return to the top tier and the proactive restructuring of Delta Queens signal a clear new direction for sports development in the region.

“Chief Oborevwori Onos has brought a breath of fresh air to sports in Delta State,” Dr. Sifo said. “His leadership is clearly yielding results. The promotion of Warri Wolves back to the NPFL is not just a win for the club but a landmark achievement for Delta football. It reflects the vision and commitment of a sports administrator who understands the pulse of the game.”

Warri Wolves secured promotion after a successful campaign in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 in Asaba, bouncing back from an initial 1-0 loss to Osun United, before defeating Kun Kalifa FC 3-0 and overcoming Crown FC 2-1 in their final group game.

In addition to celebrating that achievement, Dr. Sifo praised Chief Onos for his bold steps in restructuring Delta Queens FC — including the recent appointment of a new management team aimed at restoring the club’s dominance in women’s football.

“The rejuvenation of Delta Queens shows that the Sports Commission is thinking long-term and laying the right foundations. Appointing a fresh, dynamic management team to steer the club ahead of the new season is a strong signal of intent,” he added.

Dr. Sifo emphasized that these developments go beyond club football and are igniting a wider resurgence of interest, investment, and belief in Delta sports.

“This is a new chapter for sports in Delta. We’re seeing real impact — from grassroots development to elite competition. The credit goes to Chief Oborevwori Onos and his team for their dedication, strategic planning, and unwavering support for our local teams.”

The Royal Queens boss expressed optimism that with continued support and forward-thinking leadership, Delta State is well on its way to becoming the leading hub of football excellence in Nigeria once again.
