EDO STATE SPORTS COMMISSION BOSS VISITS COACH IKHANA

— A Show of Solidarity and Support from the Sporting Community

The Edo State sporting fraternity demonstrated its deep sense of compassion and unity as the Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Desmond Amadin Enabulele, paid a heartfelt visit to the ailing football legend, Coach Kadiri Ikhana, at the Irrua Specialist Hospital, Irrua. Hon. Enabulele was ably represented by the Executive Director of the Commission for Edo North, Hon. Frank Ilaboya.

Coach Ikhana, a celebrated and award-winning tactician who has contributed immensely to Nigerian football, is currently undergoing treatment but remains in high spirits and is said to be recuperating well. The visit brought visible joy to the coach, who expressed his appreciation to the Sports Commission boss and the accompanying delegation, noting that such gestures of care and encouragement play a crucial role in the healing process.

“This visit means a lot to me,” Coach Ikhana said. “Knowing that the sporting leadership in Edo State cares for me at this time will surely aid my recovery.”

Hon. Ilaboya was joined by notable figures in Edo’s football circle, including Bendel Insurance Coordinator, Hon. Felix Osaro, and Faith Ojeaga, a member of the Edo State Football Association Board representing Edo Central. The trio offered words of encouragement and pledged the state’s continued support for the revered coach.

Coach Ikhana’s legacy spans decades, having made significant contributions both as a player and a coach. His resilience and dedication continue to inspire the next generation of footballers and coaches.

The visit not only reflects the Edo State Sports Commission’s commitment to its sports heroes but also underscores the administration’s ethos of unity, respect, and welfare for all sporting figures, past and present.
