‎... Umukoro’s Six-Wicket Haul Powers Crusaders CC to Victory as League

‎As the 2025 Edo Men’s Cricket League enters advanced Stage,Dolphins Cricket Club on Sunday bounced back from a painful loss to Uniben Cricket Club during weekend by recording two crucial victories against U-17 Cricket Club and Integrity Force Cricket Club respectively to boost their hopes of qualifying for the Super Four.

‎After suffering a 48-run defeat to Uniben CC, Dolphins’ chances of advancing appeared to be slipping away. However, they revived their campaign with a hard-fought win over U17 CC in Sunday’s first match.

‎Dolphins won the toss and elected to bat, posting 64 runs in 17.1 overs before being bowled out. They defended the modest total with grit and determination and dismissed the U-17 side for 57 runs in 18.5 overs to seal a narrow 7-run victory.

‎Their second match against Integrity Force CC came with a different challenge, as their opponents needed a win to keep their own qualification hopes alive. Dolphins, again chose to bat after winning the toss, this time putting on a much-improved display with 109 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing nine wickets in the process.

‎Intergrity Force CC fell short of the target, managing 99 all out at the end of 20 overs. Dolphins secured a 10-run victory—an important result that pushed them into the top three of the standings. Integrity Force CC dropped to fourth place, while Invictus CC and No Limit CC remain firmly in the top two positions.

‎Meanwhile, U-17 youngster Destiny Umukoro delivered one of the outstanding performances of the season, taking six wickets to help Crusaders CC secure their final league victory over Uniben CC.

‎Uniben CC won the toss and elected to bat, posting 59 runs all out in 13.5 overs, largely due to Umukoro’s exceptional bowling spell. In response, Crusaders CC successfully chased the 60-run target in 14.4 overs, losing five wickets to seal a 5-wicket win.

‎Despite the victory, Crusaders CC fell short of securing a Super four spot. However, the result dealt a significant blow to Uniben CC’s qualification hopes, as they must now win all three remaining matches to stand a chance of reaching the Super Four.

‎With the top two teams—Invictus CC and No Limit CC—already confirmed, the final two Super Four slots will be fiercely contested by Dolphins CC, Integrity Force CC, and Uniben CC as the league enters a crucial stage next weekend.
